Diagnose the Cause of a Refrigeration Breakdown
Refrigerator not keeping food cold? We diagnose and repair commercial reach-ins, prep coolers, display cases, and refrigeration controls. Call (415) 823-9890 or request service.

What information helps diagnose a warm cabinet?
Record the displayed temperature, the time you first noticed the problem and whether other equipment is affected. A unit that runs continuously, a fan that has stopped and a controller showing an alarm point to different checks. An observation is useful evidence, but it does not identify a failed part on its own.
How are repairs assessed?
Depending on the equipment and symptoms, an assessment may include airflow, door seals, coil condition, defrost controls, electrical components and refrigeration-system operation. Diagnosis should come before a proposed component replacement. Tell us about earlier repairs or recurring alarms so the conversation includes the history, not just the latest symptom.
Repair, replacement or a maintenance visit?
The appropriate next step depends on the cause, equipment condition, parts availability and the intended use. A new installation is a separate project from repairing an existing unit. Repeated problems may also warrant a maintenance review, but routine cleaning cannot be assumed to resolve every temperature fault.
Have these repair details ready
- Equipment type, manufacturer and model if accessible
- Temperature or alarm readings and when they changed
- Unusual noise, icing, leaking water or changes in airflow
- Recent service history and safe access arrangements
Questions about commercial refrigeration repair
Should I keep resetting a refrigeration breaker?
Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips again. Stop using equipment that appears electrically unsafe and follow your site safety procedure. Tell the service team what happened without opening energized panels.
Can a refrigerant top-up fix every warm cooler?
No. A warm cooler can have several causes, including airflow, controls, defrost or mechanical faults. Refrigerant work requires an appropriate diagnosis; do not assume adding refrigerant is the correct repair.
